11.5 miles

Okay ... this was the plan: run three 5Ks - 1 @ marathon pace, 1 @ threshold pace, and 1 @ VO2 max pace with one minute rest between each one. I am so glad this is over -- that last 5K just about did me in.

1 warmup mile

5K @ 8:00 pace

5K @ 7:30 pace

5K @ 7:04 pace

(I was reallly trying to push it to a sub 7 pace on my last 5K but absolutely could not do it. Stink! I'll blame it on Fonz since he pushed me on the bike yesterday. But truthfully, I don't know that I could have gone even 1 second faster had he not. I hit the puke feeling halfway through and had to slow down a bit before picking it up again.)

1.2 miles cooldown

I'm exhausted! :)

Intense 5k repeats Teena! Great job!

From artichoke on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 11:23:22 from 71.37.112.45

Wow! Now that's quite a workout. Way to go!

Official Confirmation: Teena Marie is nuts!

Wow! That's a tough workout with only a minute rest between....

How you doin' Super Girl?

From DonGardinero on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 14:58:41 from 75.162.178.116

Makes me tired just thinking about it. Nice job.

From Andy on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 16:53:15 from 159.212.71.199

Amazing workout. Are you making these up as you go along?

From Kelli on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 19:56:08 from 71.219.89.82

That is a serious 5k pace. I can not believe you did that last one so darn fast, after having already run 2! WOW, very super impressive. Hope you had an easy day today!

From JulieC on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 21:48:56 from 71.35.220.235

I'm very impressed with the 1 min RI and the fact you only run one mile warmup. The first mile flies by too fast for me, even if I set the pace slow, when I am about to do SW. I would have been psyched out. You ran great. Hope you feel well today? :D.

Powerhouse!

From Teena Marie on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:05:13 from 174.52.45.85

Mike -- I don't think I have ever been called BeastWoman before!!! Sweet!!! :)

SSF -- You always make me laugh!!! I'm still exhausted. Seriously, Wednesdays (and Mondays) are so stinkin' long for me. I just got home from work about 20 minutes ago. Sigh. I need to study, but I think I will go to bed early instead! I am deficient in the sleep department right now and know that I need to start making it up before disaster hits! :) Love you!

Vinh -- THANKS!!! :)

Artichoke -- Thank you so much! I just looked at your blog. I can't believe you have grandchildren!! You look FANTASTIC!!!

Paul -- Killer??? Yes, you are right ... they just about killed me!!! :)

Jeff -- My hubby has been telling me that for years (that I'm nuts). :)

Dale -- THANKS!!! It is so good to hear from you! I need to check out your blog and see what you are up to! :)

Andy -- Yes. (Is that bad?) I actually think I do better that way. Sometimes I think that following a strict regimen gets me injured because I stress about having to run a certain pace, etc. and my body gets frustrated and tightens up. I actually think I can push myself harder and yet stay more relaxed when I make the decisions myself knowing that I can alter them if needs be.

Kelli -- I had no choice!!! I had to run after school and had to hurry up and finish so that I could get dinner going before Ry got home. :)

Julie -- Thanks! The first one though felt very easy, the second one was comfortably hard, but I really had to focus to finish the final one. That one was nasty!!! :)

TBarlow -- You are far too nice! I didn't look like much of a powerhouse when I was done though. :)

From Smooth on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:24:33 from 174.23.232.65

SSF! ~ I seriously don't know where you find all that energy. Get some sleep! LOVE YOU!

From Teena Marie on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:27:37 from 174.52.45.85

You're right ... I'm going to go to bed. It was the LONGEST day of work. CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY busy. School wasn't any better! At least I took it easy at the gym. Now I am trying to decide whether or not to get my fanny up earlier enough to get in 10-13 miles in the gym in the morning before my kids get up, or if I should just run after school again tomorrow? What's your take?

From AmberG on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:32:35 from 64.255.88.22

Wowsers way to hit that puke zone! You worked HARD! NICE JOB :)

From Teena Marie on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:33:34 from 174.52.45.85

Thanks Amber!!!

Funny thing is this would have been an easy day for you! :)

You still teaching the extra spin classes? YOU are the one that works hard! :)

From Smooth on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:38:46 from 174.23.232.65

SSF ~ Run after school, SLEEP is more important!

From Teena Marie on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:43:42 from 174.52.45.85

Okay!

I'm going to go snuggle up to Ry while he watches the Jazz game. Hopefully I will fall asleep and he will carry me to bed! :)

From Smooth on Wed, Feb 03, 2010 at 23:49:53 from 174.23.232.65

SSF ~ If you snuggle up to Ry...he WON'T let you fall asleep! At least that's what happens to me! Hehe! :)

From Kelli on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 09:44:07 from 71.219.89.82

I was telling Scott your times last night and he said, "WOW!" Now, that is a lot coming from him. Now you know you are superwoman! I was thinking, my fastest racing 5k is slower than that last one you ran!!! And you had already run 6 fast miles. You are so super speedy-----just admit it and I will leave you alone. Come on, say, "I AM FAST" for all of us to hear!!!!!

From Camille on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:04:28 from 71.223.71.93

wow... I'm exhausted too. You are crazy and amazing!

From TylerS on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:07:34 from 63.248.32.71

I'm fast....Oh you wanted Teena to say that. Sorry Kelli! JK, I am not fast right now. Great job Teena, that is an impressive workout! Next time drag Sim with you! ha ha

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:14:11 from 174.52.45.85

SSF - You make me laugh so so so hard!!! Do you think if we started wearing big 'ol neck high flannel nightgowns that we could get some sleep?? Men!!! :)

Kel - It was just a good day. I'll try it again in a couple of weeks and see if I can repeat it. If I can't, then it was just a fluke!

Camille - I am still tired! Wait a second, now that I think about it, I have been tired for about 12 years! :) How are you??

Tyler - YOU ARE FAST!!! I heard them announce your name at Painters but could not find you!

From TylerS on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:16:37 from 63.248.32.71

I was hiding in the bathrooms! I got chicked by Michelle, so I hid myself!!!! jk I did however "hunk" her on our tempo run on tuesday. I guess that is what you call it when you pass a girl???

From Camille on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:21:14 from 71.223.71.93

Kids can do that to you! LOL. I'm doing good. It's been a long week, but I'm doing good.

From Kelli on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:44:02 from 71.219.89.82

Not a fluke.

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 04, 2010 at 22:49:18 from 174.52.45.85

Tyler -- "Hunked." So funny!!! Michelle is amazing!!!

Camille -- So sorry that it has been a long week for you. I hope you will have an amazing weekend! :)

Kel -- We shall see. :)
