11.7 miles on the JRP with JohnnyV, Matt, Marty and Andy D. Very fun run with a couple of threshold miles and Puke Hill towards the end.

It was also nice to run into many friends on the parkway as well! Beautiful day!!!

Feeling good!!! :)

* Question: Is anyone trying to sell their UVM full spot? Marty is looking for a spot.

Glad to see you are you feeling good a week out from the race. What if, I know this is a crazy thought, you ran 0 miles on Wednesday or Thursday (preferably) this week? Just my opinion but I think a day off from running (stretching is always allowed) 2 days before a race can do wonders. Any training at that point is just to put the mind at ease but I don't think it can improve a race performance. Slightly longer runs on Monday and Tuesday could make up for it. Of course there are probably 100 different opinions about how to properly taper but this simple rule has seemed to help me.

Fritz~

I will do whatever you tell me to do. Okay ... so you are saying take either Wednesday or Thursday off, right? Not both, correct?

I did not feel well rested before Ogden and really want to this time around! :)

Seriously ... just tell me what to do!!!! I would be so grateful!!! :)

sounds like a great day. so glad to hear you are feeling good going into UVM.

fritz has good advice...

From Fritz on Sat, Jun 04, 2011 at 17:37:32 from 65.100.192.74

Although I do think taking Wednesday and Thursday off would be best for the body I do worry about what that would do for the mind. :) Thus, I have only found the discipline to take one day off, always two days before a race.

So, My final recommendation is to take Thursday off completely and keeping Wednesday to something short (maybe around 6 miles) and mix in some tempo miles. Not sure what's best for the day before but as you know, I like to fall on treadmills and then run a few tempo miles just to wake up the legs. Sleep is always a good thing too, especially on Thursday night.

Fritz~

Okay, I will take Thursday off for sure!!! I have two HUGE tests on Thursday, so that will give me a little extra sleeping time!! Then ... I will be hugely relieved that the tests are over so will sleep like a baby Thursday night!!! Friday I will try to jump on the TM while it is running and get a belt burn on my right leg, well ... maybe I will skip that part! :)

Allie~

I feel so very very very cool (seriously) to know such amazing runners like you and Fritz!!! I was really wishing that I was a PT already so that I could ultrasound your leg everyday in hopes of it healing quickly and strongly!! :)

Nice job, Teena! I think Fritz has some good ideas.

Great run today Teena. Marty is an animal. He is going to hit like 12 marathons this year for sure then. Hope it all works out.

Tom listed on May 3 in the discussion forum under buy/see/trade that he has a full he wants to sell.

Thanks Dale, Mark, and SSF! :)

Yes, Marty is an animal. Sadly Tom already sold his spot. :(

From RAD on Mon, Jun 06, 2011 at 17:03:29 from 98.202.17.113

I love your puke hill! Some day I'd like to walk or drive up it. I'm not fond of puking so I don't want to run it :)

Nice work Teena, lots of good advice! If I hear of a UVM spot I will let you know. Heaven's knows you rescued me at Ogden!

From Brent on Mon, Jun 06, 2011 at 23:55:39 from 66.7.127.67

Are you running UVM?

Rad~

Puke Hill would be nothing for you!!! SERIOUSLY! :)

Kathie~

HUGE SMILE! I can't wait to see you girls!!!! :) :) :) I think Fonz is going to pace me the last 10K ... so it's good to know that you will be there in the case that I want to kill him. You can save me from any felonies which would get me kicked out of school! :)

From Maynard on Wed, Jun 08, 2011 at 15:25:44 from 159.212.71.199

I'll be doing the half with my two girls, but as quick as you are, you're sure to pass us before we finish.
