15.76 miles -- my legs are so heavy -- not sure if it is still the aftermath of two marathons in the past 6 weeks or if it is the lower body stuff I have been doing.

** After looking at all my lower body issues these past couple of years and trying to figure out what the deal is I have come up with a new theory for myself. This might sound totally lame but I am pretty convinced that my gluteus maximus is not maximus enough. Seriously. Seems like my lateral rotators are super weak, especially my stinkin' bootie muscles (or lack of bootie muscles might be more appropriate). Here's to a bigger and stronger tush. Will see if  my theory holds true ... giving it 3 committed months of working on those dang lateral rotators. :)

** Big regret today: not running with my SSF. I woke up feeling blah and didn't even know if I would make it 10 miles. Just was not feeling it. Smooth was right, I would make it if I chose to ... I should have listened to her and ran with her. Big mistake on my part.

** Another stupid thing I did today was begin my run with the wind at my back ... that made the last half miserable. Yes, I am a big baby!!! Seriously.

My daughter, Rylee, was giving me piggyback ride yesterday down our hallway. She wanted a picture of her carrying her mother. Payton was the photographer and he took this shot when we weren't ready (Rylee wanted me to fix her bangs) -- it is my favorite. I have the best kids in the world!!! :)

...so much for taking it easy... :-)

Have a great weekend!

Jefferey: I have ran all of my runs slower than I have in months. Likely not by choice, but because I feel so tired. But ... I justify it saying it is an easy pace.

I wasn't planning on tapering for UVM because I am not racing it. But I have changed my mind after today's run ... I best taper if I want any chance of crossing the finishing line. :)

SSF!!! Can't believe you ran that fast and tough it out in the wind with tiny tushy! :) You can have some of my big fat bootie anytime! :)

Missed you so much this morning! I am certain if we ran together I would have run faster and you slower...would have, could have been PERFECT!

You're such a studious runner figuring out your physique! I just LOVE YOU!!!! Have a nice restful recovery day and evening!

Don't you worry a thing about UVM! It's just another Sat. training run. Keep your eye on the prize for SGM!!! LOVE YOU!!!!

I could have told you your butt was not big enough!!!!

Nice run, way to get out there even when you felt blah!

I will be a gentleman and refrain from commenting on your booty.

The last half was miserable but it will make you stronger. Great run today.

I'm in need of advice on another matter. When's lunch?

From Teena Marie on Sat, May 29, 2010 at 17:49:30 from 174.52.45.85

Kel -- I definitely need to perk it up a bit. I wonder if there are some dvds that have straight on booty workouts! I'll bet there are! :)

Andy -- I have been starving for like a month now!!! Let's you and I plan it. I know Memorial Day is bad for most ... so how about Tuesday at noon at Great Harvest again? (Can't wait!! :))

There you go!!! Honestly, coming from a person who is ALWAYS tryting to "firm" up my tush, do lots of squats and lunges!!! That will give you a strong behind, and there are a few really good machines at the gym, too.

From RAD on Sun, May 30, 2010 at 02:08:00 from 67.172.229.125

It's interesting how much of our 'leg' strength really does come from the hip/core area. I think we, as runners, overlook that area a lot, concentrating more on quads, calves and hamstrings. Strengthening our hip/core does SO much for us!! That said, good luck - I hate doing the stuff :)

Nice work on the 15! I will never call anyone a baby when they complain about the wind! I HATE it, really, it makes it about 50X harder to run when going into a head wind!

Rylee is buff! Well, you weigh almost nothing, Good luck with the backside. I believe in weight training to help balance all the muscles.

From Smooth on Sun, May 30, 2010 at 15:52:47 from 174.23.172.155

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pix!!!! STRONG, BEAUTIFUL, FUN... This goes perfect with the talk by Elder Ballard on mothers and daughters. Can't wait to see you!

Please tell Rylee how much I love her and think she's very very PRETTY!

LOVE YOU!

the wind is always sneaking up on us on runs this year!!! no fun going downhill with a headwind, mute point right? I am a baby too. What is your relaxed goal time for UVM? Cute picture : D

From Kimmy on Mon, May 31, 2010 at 11:51:29 from 75.169.134.192

Loved your post....Good luck on that booty thing...

Cute picture....Kids are great...I just love hanging out with my cute daughter.

From Teena Marie on Mon, May 31, 2010 at 21:35:17 from 174.52.45.85

Rhett -- Rylee is totally buff!!! Seriously, she rocks!

SSF -- I will tell Rylee what you said. It will make her day!

Julie -- I have NO idea! I still need to look at the course. I want to run it similarly to how I ran Ogden ... comfortably hard, but not full out race pace. Albeit, I have to admit that my body feels exhausted. The most marathons I have run in one year is two (and they were five months apart)... and now I have already run two in 6 weeks with another one right around the corner. Perhaps I should not worry about pace at all and just concentrate on crossing the finish line in one piece. What do you think?

Kimmy -- You are so right!!! (On the good days at least! :)) And as far as the booty gig -- I need all the luck I can get! :)
