18 miles, AP 8:39

Saturday's race really took a toll on my body. The 18 miler this morning was much tougher than I had anticipated. Other than the two miles I ran with Matt it seemed to drag on forever. Hot ... boring ... lonely ... tired ... blah blah blah. But if there is any chance of me running the D-News full I needed to get in some type of long run. What to do?

Oh yeah ... took a few walking breaks because I was just feeling stinky!

Spartan Queen RULES again! Sorry about the boring loneliness! You could have invited me to run with you, nah!

SSF~

I almost called you, but I figured you had just run 18 miles on Saturday and I didn't want you to feel obligated.

I didn't get out until 7:30 this morning. It felt icky the whole time. :(

Your dedication is beyond amazing! WAY to get an 18 solo miler in on a Monday after a *beat up* race. Such mental toughness is admirable! :)

Hope you have a great week and good luck with tests! :)

Jeez, Teena. You are putting in a lot of miles. I'm sure they help to decompress from school and other stresses.

From DaleG on Tue, Jul 12, 2011 at 01:07:38 from 152.216.11.5

You must be crazy. I would have counted the Spartan race as my long run and then some. LOL

What dedication. Hitting an 18 miler after that nasty Spartan race?!? Wow, I'm so impressed with all you do!

So this girl in my office ran this race and she can barely walk and you're running 18 two days later?? You are in some incredible shape. Nice!

nice job on the 18, especially after that brutal race you did on saturday. very impressive. exciting to hear that you may be running des news!

From fly on the Wall on Tue, Jul 12, 2011 at 17:12:28 from 204.113.19.47

Why are you running 18 miles at just 30ish seconds over marathon pace only two days after an almost two hour long Spartan derby? Are you training for the 48 hour death race in North Cackalacky?

From DaleG on Tue, Jul 12, 2011 at 21:55:17 from 152.216.11.5

So how did Ry do at the race?

From Tom Slick on Wed, Jul 13, 2011 at 09:12:22 from 69.171.160.132

I'm amazed that you even got out to attempt an 18 miler, good on you for showing the fortitude to stick with it. Look out, here comes the DNews....and remember to "not" take a piano from the bear along the course.

I just read your race report from Sat. Congrats on a great race. Sounds like a lot of fun, and yeah! you should be tired from that. I can't believe you did an 18 miler so soon afterwords. Way to go SuperWoman!

Walking break are GREAT!!!! That is why god gave us legs. Most people think they are for running, but they are really for walking!

From MarcE on Thu, Jul 14, 2011 at 23:55:42 from 204.16.82.120

Nothing wrong with walking breaks! (except near the end of a marathon, when Teena and Slick are within striking distance...ah, UVM 2010...I remember it well). You'll be fine for DNews, Miss Spartan!

From Teena Marie on Fri, Jul 15, 2011 at 12:44:09 from 67.2.94.218

Thanks everyone. Probably should not have run the 18 since I have had some leg pain since. Run and learn! :)
