** Really faded the last 1/2 mile but felt like I was in no real danger of drowning so kept going! Yes, Mike, I thought about your Ironman/Irongirl challenge. I think, for now, I will leave that hardest of hardcore stuff to you, my friend! But ... maybe, just maybe, by the time I hit 40! :)

You could easily be ready for an Ironman with the way you train. You are way too hardcore. LOL

2 miles swimming is Awesome! How long did that take? Do you do flip turns that whole time? I think I'd get dizzy.

T NA NA - 2 miles, do you give lessons? 2,000 commando points for the effort, awesome.

Burt -- I still have what? 20 years or so??? :) :) :)

Dale -- Thanks for the ego boost! :)

Rhett -- Way too long and yeah right!!! :) It took me roughly 85 minutes. I am not a fast swimmer, but when I am in the pool I am more concerned with swimming smoothly and staying relaxed than I am with time. For me it is very therapeutic. I have tried to do flip turns twice -- both times it was a disaster!! I just touch the wall hurry and turn and go back out. I know, total weaksauce, but it's the only way I know how. :)

Brent -- I am very much a novice at swimming. I taught myself a little over a year ago when I got sick of pool running while rehabbing a stress fracture. I read the Total Immersion book and watched this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJpFVvho0o4 a lot. Swimming to me is very calming. Yes, I can try and push the pace in the pool, but then it doesn't serve the purpose of what I am seeking while swimming. My body just loves how it feels. Plain as that. ** A special thanks for the commando points! **

2 miles? what the heck! Maybe they will let us team up for the Iron Man. You Swim, Bike and Run. I will cover everything else.

My neighbor is training for an Ironman in August...he says he usually finishes in 15 hours. You should go for one sometime...

Teena, the Iron Man is in May. If you have never watched one, it's worth the drive down. I know Brent came down to volunteer and he was pretty inspired by it.
