Early morning with the Chumps.

I was so excited to test out my new shoes (and insoles). Overall, the run was a success, albeit 2 weeks of very little running does take its toll. No pain to speak of, just very heavy and tired legs (crazy since I have not been running, you would think they would be springy and full of life). Kept all my miles around 9 minutes and yet by 12 miles I was very tired. Blah.

Ran 10.5 miles with Brooke and Matt. At that point they turned to go home. I was going to continue to run by myself when Paul showed up. I guess the Chumps think I need a babysitter in order to make sure I don't do anything stupid and re-injure myself. Little did Paul know I was already feeling fatigued and was not going to try and speed up. Paul ran with me a couple of miles until we ran into Vuyk and Mark who were heading back. Vuyk and I decided to take it easy (it wasn't a real decision for me, more of a necessity) while Paul and Mark took off faster than fast!

Really missing how good I felt those few months before Boston. Please oh please oh please let that come back.

* Spent the remainder of the morning and afternoon helping Ry's parents with their garage sale -- yikes, that was a mess. (Although I did get my hands on some of Ry's old high school baseball sweats that he cut off and wore around the house. LOVE THEM!!! Can't wait to lounge around in them myself! :)

* * Now 24 hours later I am stiff but no real pain. :)

Good to hear that you self controlled yourself on your latest runs. Let that leg get all healed up. You are going to experience some road rust when you come back but it will polish off quite quickly. It is fun to come run with the Chumps but I miss running my hills and the Jordan Parkway Trail just doesn't have the hills that the Wasatch Dr. and Dimple Dell have for me!

YEAH for no pain!!!! That is very good. And you are just as fit as before Boston, give it a week or so to come back.

Now, I should have bet you lunch that you would go farther than 13 miles---I KNEW IT!!!

I have your shirt, so a pool day is in order. I will wear my running shoes to the pool.

T NA NA, just missed you on the JRP yesterday, Mark and Paul said you were right behind when they passed me, 100 commando points for hanging on when not at your best.

My DEAREST SSF ~ I MISSED YOU SOOOO MUCH ALL DAY! I knew you had to help with the garage sale and was concerned how your run went. I am glad you had the Chumps to run with.

Not that I had anything to do with it. But...you know you felt awesome when you ran with me those long runs before Boston, don't you? Please oh please oh please say yes!

Anyway, I am glad the pain is gone! YAY!!! How do you like the new shoes?

Hope you enjoy lounging in Ry's old cut off sweats today and have a restful day with spiritual renewal!

I can't wait to see you soon! Meanwhile know that you are always in my thoughts! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Slick -- Well then let's set up a run in your neck of the woods!! :)

Kelli -- I hope you are right. I am more tri-shape fit, but I am worried about the distance running. I would convert if I could justify the thousands for a decent bike. Then again ... could I really give up marathoning?

Brent -- I am wondering how many times we have actually passed each other and not even realized it! Couldn't you sport a shirt that reads (in big letters, of course), "Teena, I'm Brent!!!"

SSF -- YOU ARE RIGHT!!! I started feeling better once we started doing long runs together!! You are the cure-all!! :) :) :) I'm wearing Ry's cutoff sweats (mine now) as I type ... oh yeah, and one of his bro's little league shirt (since the back reads, "T. Jensen".) :) :) :) It was funny because at dinner I was asking, "Why couldn't this have been my shirt in high school?" Everyone thought they were so smart. They would answer: "Because girls play softball, not baseball." "Because you would have had a smaller shirt." And Ry, thinking he was all that, responded, "Because you don't play little league in high school." They were stunned each time I would say wrong!! I was shocked that Ry didn't pick up on it. They all thought it was hysterical when I answered: "Because in high school my last name was Aguirre NOT Jensen." Funny how that didn't even cross their minds. :)

T NA NA - read your comment about Tri shape, yes, you would do very well at triathlons. Tris are fun, you would enjoy the different kind of challenge. The bike thing, a good (carbon)used Tri bike would cost about $1500 to $2,500. I am saving to hopefully buy one for next season. After volunteering at the STG Iron Man and doing a half dozen sprint Tris, it is a sport that will continue to grow leaps and bounds and draw you in.

Good luck on whatever you pursue, running will always have the cycle of injury, recover, back in shape, never changes in that respect. Some runners are just physically gifted, where most of us are in the cyle almost every year.

Good smart workout. I think you would do awesome at Tris. That Iron Man challenge is still there. I know your thinking about it!

Brent -- I don't know whether I would do well or not, but for once in my life I think I could actually complete one! :) Perhaps I'll save for a tri-bike next season as well. Then you can rake me over the coals! :)

Mike -- Yes, I think about it ... then I come back to my senses! I already told you, I am living vicariously through your successes! :) But guess what? I did swim the longest I have ever swam before this morning! That was kind of cool! :)
