** There is this older guy at my gym. We have been smiling at each other and exchanging greetings for quite some time now. Today he was wearing a Provo River Half t-shirt. I asked him how it went, etc. We got talking for quite some time. This guy is AMAZING! He is 66 years old (I thought he was mid to late 50s -- looks fantastic). In his twenties he ran for the University of Utah (I knew he was RED). He talked about the good 'ol days when he would run a 4:12 mile and sub15 5K!! Wow!!! I enjoyed talking to him so much. At 66, with not much training, he ran the Half in 1:51. Cool cool guy! He is headed to South Africa for a couple of weeks, but can't wait to talk to him again. :)

What is it with you and older guys? :)

Hmmm, may be I should start going to the gym! NOT!!!

Kidding aside, he sounds like a great guy!

Smooth ~

You would LOVE him! Maybe one of these days I can get him out to a Chump run! He was the race director for the West Jordan 4th of July 5K for over 20 years!!! Then the city wanted to bring in Devine Racing. He bailed ... he doesn't like them at all. Subsequently the city decided they weren't happy with them either.

Seriously, this guy could keep us entertained for several marathons! Super super super nice! :)

I would love to meet Don and glean much from him! When/what is his next race? Would be fun to watch and cheer him!

Nice and easy!

Good job on making a new friend!

SSF ~

You're so stinkin' cute ... looking up his name!!! :) :) :)

I asked him about his next race ... he doesn't have one in mind. In fact, he wasn't even really planning on running Provo River (kind of a last minute decision).

Yes, though, that would be FUN!!! Seriously ... I have so so so so much fun cheering people in with you. I love it!!!!!!!!

Looks like we might be heading down to SG for Labor Day. So Pokey is a long shot.

From Teena Marie on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 18:32:17 from 174.52.45.85

Thanks Kathie!!!

Are you still high off of your run this morning???? :) :) :)

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 23:50:27 from 174.23.203.161

You should go to Jackson For Labor Day. that way you can do Pokey. You know you want to come at least to cheer Doone and Kathie and Kimmy and me and of course Lowell. You can totally run it for fun!

No, it is Ry's brother's little boy. We are still not sure whether we are going to go or not, so we'll have to wait and see.

Wondering if we should wait to do Thanksgiving Point until next week so that Rylee can come. :)

Old men??? That is such a relative term. For example: Don (yep, that was him) I would consider "older" (meaning, older than me by more than 15 years) but by no means "old". I know 55-year-olds that seem so much older than he does.

Ry and Smooth always tease me because I love hanging around *older* people who seem so young!!! There is just something about them. They have something special ... almost as if they have figured it all out ... about them.

Ry always tells me that if I ever left him (which I would never do) it would be for an *older* man! I just think they are GREAT!!!! :) :) :)

Btw, you both are only in your 50s ... still babies!!!! :) :) :)

From Smooth on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 11:13:10 from 174.23.203.161

SSF ~ Whatever works! I am good next Tue too, I think!

When I was your age, lots of my *boy friends* were in their 60s...partly b/c Larry was their bishop. Now they are in their 80s and are the GREATEST! There is a certain glow almost glory shown about them!

Yes, I am still a babe. Slick, however is saying bye bye to 50s. He is moving to a new AG...in the category of what you consider *older*! :)

From Tom Slick on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 11:34:56 from 168.179.157.36

OK you two, go ahead and lay it on as thick as you can. Just know, that just because I'm moving into the 60's age wise, doesn't mean I've moved on from my 1960's state of mind. I don't think that I will ever grow up and act my age, adults are usually such jerks, ya know what I mean?????

From Rhett on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 11:55:56 from 74.32.211.152

Nice workout yesterday. I hope to be fit like that when I'm in my 60's.

From Teena Marie on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 14:44:56 from 174.52.45.85

SSF~

Yes, you are still quite the babe! :) :) :)

Slick~

1960s????? Hmmmm ... that was a decade before I was born!!!!! :) :) :) Love ya!!! :) :) :)

Rhett~

You will be!!! :) :) :)
