I have never felt this strong on a 22 miler before. The pace felt very comfortable and I was able to really enjoy this run and Matt's great company. I wanted to see if I could push it the last three miles. I was thrilled with how good I felt. Thanks for a GREAT run, Matt!!! The hay is now in the barn!!! WAHOO!!!! :) :) :)

Funny story: I got back to my car and immedicately began to freak out because I couldn't find my phone. I was sure that someone had broken into my car and was relieved only by the fact that I didn't bring my wallet with me. As I began to pull out of the parking lot I saw Ry and the kids pull up. Not having much control over my emotions I almost broke out in tears and told them that someone broke in my car and took my phone. They told me to pull over and we would look for it. As I was checking for scratches around the key hole they sat a package on my seat. When I got back in the car I immediately noticed a little note that read: "It's A Mother's Day Miracle (one week early)." Inside the box was the new G2X phone. I was so excited ... I hated my phone!!! I can't believe they let me suffer with panic for so long!!!! :) :) :)

OH, such a sweet husband, and I love that he let you suffer a little!!!

Nice job today, you have had one heck of a week of training. Some major miles, good speedwork, and so on. Very IMPRESSED and so happy that you are feeling good. You are ready for a great race. It is Ogden, right?

SO, I work every day but Friday. I would love to go to lunch Friday.

Great run Teena. You are so ready for your best ever marathon. Ryan is awesome! How cool to give you an early Mother's Day suprise. You deserve all the spoiling you get.

Get those legs recovered and ready to fly at Ogden. You're SO ready!

Kel~

Thanks!!! Yes, it is Ogden. Also, Friday sounds GREAT!!! Let's talk to Smooth and make sure she can go. :) :) :)

Matt~

Thank you so much. It better pay off or in all honesty, I am going to be ticked!!!! :)

Andy~

I am so relieved to be past this run. I think your comment to me the other day (reminding me of 3 weeks before Boston last year) helped out tremendously. Thank you!

Chad~

Ogden should be a blast!!! Let's just keep our fingers and toes crossed for great weather. You are going to KILL it regardless!!!!! :)

Rhett/Bish~

Thank you SO much! I would love to match (or even better, beat) my sgm time. I think it will all depend on the day. I am going to give it my all!!! :) :) :)

Tim~

Thanks! I can't believe my sweet children would go along with the joke!!! They keep laughing about how funny it was to see me on the verge of tears!!! Unbelievable, such trouble-makers!!!! :)

Rachel~

I am very excited for Ogden! (It was definitely a fun surprise.) :)

From Smooth on Sat, Apr 30, 2011 at 23:39:19 from 67.2.80.172

CONGRATULATIONS!!! WONDERFUL JOB!!! EXCELLENT RUN!!! You must be on top of the world! :)

Ry IS SO GREAT!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Really??? You were almost in tears over a phone that you hated?!!! HAPPY MOTHER's DAY!!! :)

From Teena Marie on Sun, May 01, 2011 at 01:06:05 from 208.54.5.54

SSF,

You are too funny. I don't think it was the phone that I was almost in tears over, but the fact that I thought someone had broken in my car. It just felt very invasive.

I am so glad you are okay. How do you feel now?

From glidergirl on Sun, May 01, 2011 at 01:07:28 from 155.100.9.11

Wow, you definitely needed a run like this after putting in so many miles. And I really hope you get your time goal right as you're starting school since it might be awhile until you can race like that again, that would be perfect! Although, I really think that you'll still be able to do some 70+ mileage weeks. Just take lots of vitamins haha. :)

From DaleG on Sun, May 01, 2011 at 01:11:45 from 67.2.26.93

Wow Teena, you are on fire!!! Nice run and very cool early mothers day surprise.

From Teena Marie on Sun, May 01, 2011 at 11:51:45 from 67.2.88.232

Brooke~

THANKS!!! :) It'll be interesting to see how Ogden goes. (And I have no idea what my running will be like in PT school ... so you are right, this is perfect timing!) :) :) :)

Dale~

The pieces seem to be falling in place. No matter how the race turns out I am very satisfied with my effort this training cycle. :) :) :) (Okay, that's kind of a lie ... it is very likely that I will be 100% ticked if the race doesn't go well.) :) :) :)

Did you figure out if your doing a two week or a three week taper? I would suggest the three week taper! You've peaked and the only thing that can happen now is that you over train or get injured! Taper for good mental health, Now!!!!

From Teena Marie on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 15:27:22 from 67.2.88.232

Slick~

I think I am going with the three week taper. However, I might be adding some easy elliptical miles in as well. I don't want to over-taper and I don't want to under-taper. For me, this is tricky stuff! :)
