Running PC with my SSF

I have been so nervous about the Park City Marathon in two weeks. Today I realized why ... DANG ... that race is going to kick my trash!!!!

Smooth picked me up at 6:15 and we headed out. The plan was to run 12 miles covering the hardest miles of the marathon. I wanted to run them hard ... little did I know that no matter how you run those miles ... they are HARD!! (I can be such a baby!)

We got turned around and confused a few times, but there was no way confusing those uphill miles to Deer Valley and the huge hill on 8th street before hitting Empire. (We actually ran that hill twice to try and convince ourselves that we were tough.)

I have to admit that I was always more than happy to stop at a stoplight or take a breather when trying to figure out which way to turn.

The best part BY FAR was breakfast afterwards!

I have the GREATEST SSF EVER!!!! :)

NICE!!! That race does look super tough, but many will say it is their favorite. You will do great!

Great run! Way to be smart about your race and practice the hard stuff! Hooray for having a buddy to make it a party!

From RAD on Thu, Aug 05, 2010 at 23:22:26 from 67.172.229.125

You will end up loving PC! Especially if you run it with Smooth!! I seriously had the time of my life last year when I ran with her. I love it now because of that, she really makes everything SO much better. Of course you already know that though :)

You did a great job and that hill on 8th is NASTY. Queen of the hill *YOU* will have no trouble at all tackling it when it looms over you in the race! Nice work Teena!!

From Tom Slick on Fri, Aug 06, 2010 at 14:12:07 from 69.171.174.126

Oh my.... You ran up the 8th street hill twice. Hey you are tough and you are ready to kick butt and take names at Park City. I think that your so ready and you should be able to run a race worthy of an AG award! It's up to you whether it will be #1, 2nd or 3rd!!!! Now get into your taper and don't do any thing stupid in the next two weeks.......Got it ????

Another nice adventure with Smooth.

From Rhett on Fri, Aug 06, 2010 at 16:20:15 from 74.32.211.9

So where was breakfast? Your report and Smooth's report are very different about how amazingly speedy you were up those hills. I'm choosing to believe Smooth.

From DonGardinero on Fri, Aug 06, 2010 at 17:42:27 from 75.162.169.157

Nice job, Teena!!! Hey, I'm going to start at 5 am and my goal is to stay ahead of all of you throughout the race, so no one else is allowed to start at 5 am like me. Deal?

From Teena Marie on Fri, Aug 06, 2010 at 18:03:26 from 174.52.45.85

SSF -- The pleasure is all mine!!! I feel so extremely lucky to have you in my life. Really, you have no idea how much our friendship and ssf'ship means to me! Love you love you love you!!! (And you are the one that did INCREDIBLE!!!!!)

Kel -- I can pretty much guarantee that I will not be one of those who say it is amongst my faves!!! Really, I just want to finish with some dignity and no injury! :)

Kathie and Allie -- Thanks girls!!! :)

Toby -- Everything with Smooth is a party!!! :)

Rachel -- Thanks, cutegirl! :)

Slick -- I will be more than happy with just finishing with some dignity. (But who is going to pinch my tush at mile 25???)

Paul -- Adventures with Smooth are the best!!! :)

Rhett -- You know Smooth!!! She is far too complimentary with me. She is the one that did so so so so incredibly well. I was amazed at her!!! In all honesty, I am still no where near as fit (at least running-wise) as I was 3 weeks before Boston. It seems crazy ... you would think that it would have come back by now. Hmmmm ... perhaps this multi-marathoning thing is not for me. :)

Dale -- You are making me laugh! :)

From Tom Slick on Fri, Aug 06, 2010 at 19:37:46 from 69.171.174.86

Hey Ms. T. You may not get off without that pinch to grow an inch. I'll be up there running the last half of the race with the "DoG"! Protect yourself at all times!

From DonGardinero on Fri, Aug 06, 2010 at 22:15:04 from 152.216.7.5

Hey Teena, at first I was joking around, but I think I WILL make it my goal to stay ahead of you. That will keep me motivated.

From fly on the Wall on Sat, Aug 07, 2010 at 13:51:45 from 166.70.192.189

"We actually ran that hill twice to try and convince ourselves that we were tough." Everyone else already knows how tough you two are!!!

Was this the Saturday you were planning to run in City Creek Canyon? I looked for you....

From Teena Marie on Sat, Aug 07, 2010 at 18:00:09 from 174.52.45.85

Slick -- I consider myself warned! ;)

Dale -- LOVE IT!!!!

Fly -- You think I would run City Creek and not tell you!!!!!????? Yes, today was the day that we were suppose to run it ... but it didn't happen. I am such a loser for not telling you. However, one of these days, when you feel like taking it easy (and NOT running during the hottest hours of the day) let me know. I would LOVE to join you. But like I said, you would have to slow WAY down! :) :) :)
