Ry dropped me off at Wasatch Blvd so I could get one last decent length downhill training run.

10 miles - solid effort.

Legs were a bit tired, but not too bad. Only stopped while I waited to safely cross the freeway on/off ramps and when I saw Matt right before this portion of my run was complete (I avoided the lights by jayrunning ... is that a word?). Matt was flying! The thought of having to keep a similar pace for a whole 26.2 miles to hit a 3:25 at Ogden seems overwhelming. A sub 3:30 seems more realistic. But who knows. I have to remind myself that I ran 22 on Saturday. Really, I just have no idea at this point.

2 cool down miles (except I sprinted Homestretch Hill - .25 miles - towards the end. Just had to see if I had anything left in the tank. The hill is around a 4.5% grade, nothing too awful, but definitely enough to know you are running a hill when you are tired).

Just like you told me a million times...it will be easier in the race! I don't know if I believe it but it sounds good!

Either way your going to kick butt and do better than you think!

Your amazing!!!

Teena, you and I need to get all this doubt out of our heads. Yes, I have a lot of doubt, I just never say anything.

From watchmerun on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 13:35:57 from 24.10.152.45

Great run, Teena! I may have a bit of speed, but you have all the endurance and when it comes to marathoning, it is the endurance that counts. I'm sure Ogden is going to be a great race for you!

From glidergirl on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 13:48:14 from 155.97.238.134

Those are some great numbers. I don't care if they were downhill! -Not all of it was completely downhill, there were some ups and flats in there, too. So with that and a 22 miler 3 days ago, you are doing great!

From Rhett on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 14:36:45 from 216.67.216.104

You rock! I'm so impressed with your training the last couple months. I need to find my mojo. I want to be like Teena!

From Smooth on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 15:05:59 from 67.2.95.253

If today's awesome speedy downhill run and the 22 miler are not enough confidence builder, I don't know what is! SSF!!! Both runs are AWESOME, SOLID and great pace! You have to remember that you are running on tired legs, in the middle of finals, etc. etc. Your legs will be properly tapered the next 2+ weeks. You will kick some major trash at Ogden. I know you will give your best effort. All you need is to trust in your training which have been so SOLID and AWESOME! Let the race day magic takes you to the best race of your life! LOVE YOU!!!!

I just looked at your garminconnect route with aerial view. Yep, saw all those *jay running across* the major intersections to avoid stopping for traffic. You are AMAZING!!! That was lotsa heavy traffic city running including going under the I-15 freeway and State St. and Park Union; that takes a lot of concentration and mental effort. Even saw a few times when your route shows a collision with some cars in the crossing, funny! I can just picture you running like a little speedy machine! :) :) :)

Running down the Ogden valley and canyon is going to be a breeze for you! You totally rocked that run. And then to add the homestretch hill for another uphill mile at the end is truly proof of a diehard! :) :) :) WAY TO GO, SSF!!! LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL

Who ever easily hits marathon pace on just your every day run? You do not have the same motivation or drive. It will com race day, and i would not be surprised to see you reach well past your goal. You are ready. Every race is a crap shoot, you just never know, but the preparation is there so NO STRESS!!!!!!

From MarcE on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 22:52:49 from 204.16.82.120

Nice speed, Teena! You definitely have 3:25 speed. Is it time for taper madness already? Good luck at Ogden!

From Kathie on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 23:57:02 from 97.126.209.130

Nice run again! Trust your training you will do great!

From glidergirl on Wed, May 04, 2011 at 18:58:33 from 155.97.238.134

How did your final go? Hope all is well.

From fly on the Wall on Wed, May 04, 2011 at 19:19:00 from 204.113.19.47

With your tired legs, this was more like the last 10 miles at Ogden then the first 10 miles. Sounds like your are ready to cheer me across the finish line.

FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD goals for the next 2.5 weeks, don't get hurt!

From allie on Wed, May 04, 2011 at 22:43:21 from 174.23.197.101
