Still very sick, but only about half as miserable as yesterday. :)

Went to Grandma Bessie's funeral. Ry and the kids went early to participate in the viewing. My parents took me just in time for the family prayer and funeral. I tried to stay as inconspicuous as possible in my surgical mask, yeah right. Ryan had pre-warned everyone that I was sick, so no one tried to lay any big ones on me. I am so grateful that I went. Ryan gave a beautiful talk about Grandma.

Glad you were able to find a way to make it. So sorry to hear you have pneumonia.

Glad you were able to attend the funeral, hear Ry's talk and the meds are working!

Hope you are sleeping soundly now! No more studying Physics in between coughing spells! Love you!

So sorry to hear that you are so sick. I'm sure that being forced to have some down time is killing you but you need to take it or you won't get better.

Maurine~

It is so good to hear from you. :) You are always so kind and thoughtful.

SSF~

I can't decide if it is best to take my coughing meds or not. It does surpress the cough quite a bit, but is that really what I want? Don't I want to expel all of this mucus as soon as possible? The coughing can be painful, but if it helps get me better quicker, than that is what I want, right? LLL LLL LLL

Andy~

I am just worried about missing so much school. I have a physics test on Friday. :(

Take the cough meds at night so you can sleep! During the day take Mucinex-D, it clears the mucus w/o making you groggy!

Now that the fever is broken, you should eat a lot! Jello just doesn't cut it! You want me to bring you a pot of soup?

To answer your question about coughing to expel the mucus! yes and no! Yes you want to get rid of the mucus, but no, it doesn't necessary make you get better faster!

I will suppress the cough ( take cough meds) if it hurts or disturb your rest/sleep! You need the rest to get better!

I would drink lots of fluid to aid in thinning the expectorant. I would used an icentive spirometer for deep breathing exercises especially when you are confined in bed! coughing is nature's way to open up the airway but its forceful nature is tough on your thorace and the entire airway!
