Stinky Day.

Could not sleep more than 10-15 minutes at a time last night. The antiobiotics didn't seem to be working as every hour my face began to swell more and more. Ry looked at me this morning and started making phone calls.

Just got back from the endodontist. He redid (is that a word?) a root canal (or at least the first half of it, I have to go back next Tuesday to finish it), switched my antiobiotics and put me on some pain meds. Whatever, all I know is that it hurts.

I look like I am storing kiwis in my left cheek. Dang.

Ry just went to pick up the meds. I hope they knock me out.

The endodontist did not know if I would be feeling up to running PCM this Saturday.

STINK!!! So so so so so sorry!

I will pray like crazy that the Zpak starts to work right away! Once the swelling goes down, the pain will subside! Keep icing on 10 off 10. Be sure to take the pain meds with something so it won't upset your stomach!

Root canal are painful enough without complications, seems like cruel and unusual punishment. Get some sleep and let those med's do their job!!

oh Teena ... I am so sorry to hear about your tooth. I had something like that last year at this time, it was super bad. I don't think the root canal will keep you from running, but at least for me, the antibiotics they gave me made me pretty sick. The most important thing is your health ... there are plenty of races.

Ohhh Teena, that just stinks. I know EXACTLY how you feel. That sounds very similar to what kept me out of Park City two years ago. The day before Park City, the pain was so intense that I was rolling around on the floor, in agony, crying like a baby. My kids were looking at me like I was insane. I hope you start feeling better. Sadly, it still took several days before the pain eased up. I never want to go through that again. The only thing that would make it feel slightly better was a sock with rice in it that I kept re-heating in the microwave and pressing on my cheek. What a nightmare.

Kristi - Who would have thought that such a small area could cause so much pain.

Bonnie - Thank you so much. He switched me to a z-pac. So my last day of meds is Saturday. I think I will wait and take my last dose after the marathon if I am able to run it. Hopefully that will help. I also had Ry pick me up some Activa yogurt because the aide there told me that one reason antibiotics mess with your GI is because it kills the natural bacteria. Who knows ... but it couldn't hurt.

Kelli - Ry is trying so hard not to laugh. He feels horrible that I am in so much pain, but everytime he looks at my chubby face I see that smile of his trying to break free.

Slick - YEAH RIGHT!!! I can only imagine what he would do with such photos. Have you seen the movie Pure Luck??? That is what I look like!

Dale - I know!!! This morning before Ry took me in I kept having him heat me up a wash cloth. I am now taking Tylenol with codeine. It still hurts like crazy, but nothing like it did before I took it. Seriously, I know what you mean about rolling around on the ground crying. I wasn't on the ground, but I was crying. I was trying my hardest to be tough, but I could not help it. It seems so stupid that a tooth could cause this much pain. Honestly, last night I just wanted someone to yank it out.

I have 21 minutes until I can take my next dose of pain meds. I am hoping that they will help me fall asleep again. Right now I am just doing whatever I can to keep my mind off the pain. Seriously ... a tooth??? How in the heck can it cause so much pain and make my face swell up like that?

Have you tried the yellow Kiwi's? I love the big green kiwi's (but the big one's), they are really juicy.

Tang is right. The swelling got out of control and started shutting my eye. I have to have 3 days of IV therapy. TANG!

OK Ms. Teena, its Wednesday morning, what’s the update on your condition? Ya know, every time I get the big sinus or head cold it seems like the only relief is when I get out and run. It seems like that’s the only time my head clears up. the minute I quite running it clogs back up. Hope your getting some relief, have you tried gooping up with mentholatum or Vicks Vapo Rub. This stuff really helps clear my sinuses.
