Today's run was to judge where I am at and try to make a plan for UVM. From the get go my legs felt extremely tired. Still waiting for them to spring back to life.

Ran on the JRP to 2100 South and then got lost a few times trying to find my hubby's work. It worked out perfectly though, since I ended up with exactly 15 miles upon arrival.

I had one scary moment though ... I was running on part of the trail when out of nowhere this older looking guy, not well kept, came down a side hill on his bike. He jumped off of the bike and started chasing me. My fears were eliminated fairly quickly as I looked back after what seemed like a long time (but was probably only 10 seconds or so) and he had already stopped. I think he was not all there. But it sure scared me.

After running the marathon pace miles (which I am now counting as anything under 8:12) I took it really easy (except for the short encounter previously mentioned) and kind of lolligagged along, stopping at a Maverick to get some more fluids, stopping at the E Center to take some pictures of high school grads with their families, asking for directions, and so forth. So not sure how helpful this run was.

I have decided that I will run UVM like I did Ogden. A hard training run, but not full on out race.

Nobody (day or night) should run on the JRP alone, its just too dangerous.

From Rhett on Wed, Jun 02, 2010 at 16:53:04 from 74.36.37.19

Scary! I'm glad you are as fast as you are and he had no chance to catch you. Be careful.

KP, today is national run day? That bites since I can't run.

SSF ~ I can't believe you ran there all alone! It was scary the last time we tried to find Ry's work. I heard a girl and his boy friend were stabbed on the JRP in that vicinity last week, the girl was killed. SCARY!!!!

It's a good thing you are so fast! What did Ry say when you told him? No wonder I felt anxious or worried about you on my run.

GOOD JOB getting 8 mp miles in. You will do awesome at UVM. We drove through Provo Canyon to Heber Valley this evening. It is a lot more hilly than the profile shown...nice scenery.

Hope you're having fun at your timeshare. LOVE YOU!

Very smart run (other than running alone on the JRP through that area). I am happy to see that you chose to not over do it. You do not have to feel completely exhausted after a run for it to be helpful. Sometimes lolligagging is good.

dang - be careful out there

Teena I wish you wouldn't run alone....I would hate anything to happen to you!!!

From RAD on Thu, Jun 03, 2010 at 23:38:32 from 67.172.229.125

Seriously?!? I used to live on 3900S and JRP and I wouldn't run there alone for lovin' or money!! If you do that again I may need to blister your bottom girl!!

Now, I am VERY impressed that you got your amazing miles in and that they all felt good! I can't wait to see you blow your Ogden time away with a great UVM course. I'm SO glad your pain has subsided and that you are doing SO well!! Keep up the good work, just safely. B of BS Rools runs there, get him to escort you next time!

It's those guys that are "not all there" that you really need to be careful of. Glad you're so speedy. Carry peppespray...seriously!

See you at UVM!

Thanks everyone!!!

Most of the sections of the JRP by my house are well populated and very safe. I usually don't run that far north. But it was so fun surprising Ry at work!!! :)
