** 3 weeks until Ogden. I don't want to over-taper, yet I don't want to under-taper either. Hopefully I will hit this right on the money. Keeping all fingers and toes crossed. :)

Probably a really dumb question but..

Whats a stride?

From Teena Marie on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 15:58:56 from 67.2.88.232

Sis~

Not a dumb question. I had to ask Andy and Paul the same question when I started seeing them on their blogs. Basicly it is this: 100 meters where you accelerate to your max speed at about the half way point and hold it from there. They are suppose to help with your leg turnover (speed) and form. :)

My favorite place to do them is on grass or a track. However, today, I did them on the treadmill. Not nearly as great. You do build up to speed because it take the treadmill some time to catch up to what you set it to, but I don't think you get the full benefit of doing this naturally to your real max effort. You know what I mean?

SSF ~ Perfect recovery run with strides. I attempt to do some strides today at the end of my run; but got winded with the SSE wind.

You are doing so AWESOME!!! I got the Garmin Connect account and uploaded today's run. But I don't know how to make a link of it onto my entry. How do you do that?

Love and miss you! :)

So you do 100 meters once every mile?

From Teena Marie on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 16:19:17 from 67.2.88.232

SSF~

Copy and paste the link exactly as Annie indicated on your blog. (You should see a list of all your runs. Push the details button on the run you want. It should then open to its own page. Then copy the url address that is in your browser, and then paste it.) :) :) :)

Annie~

No, it is best to do strides (at least in my opinion) in the middle of your run. 100 m stride, then 100 m jog, then 100 m stride, etc.

Also, you don't want to run so fast that you are not keeping good form. So what I should have said is max speed that you can run and still feel relaxed and in good form. :)

Got it!!! Thanks for helping me out with my running lingo! All this strides, yasso 800's, VO2 whatever...gets confusing!

From glidergirl on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 17:45:38 from 155.97.238.134

I didn't know what strides were either, thanks! I thought you just picked up the pace for a little. Good job Teena! How are you feeling? How are your legs and how is your energy level?

Hey, nice run on Sat and recovery today. Are you doing Ogden?

From Teena Marie on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 19:16:43 from 67.2.88.232

Brooke~

I am feeling fine. :) Tired, but fine! :) I will be feeling better once finals are out of the way. :) :) :)

Kathie~

It was just kinda ish. I can tell that I am a bit tired, but that's okay! :)

Teena, I have both over-tapered and under-tapered. Neither one brought me success. LOL
