I am starting to feel a little panicky about Boston. I know that is normal, but it is there. I think it is because I was expecting my body to feel full of life this week and sadly it doesn't. The lower mileage makes me feel a bit sad and less confident. Also, my quads feel stiff in the morning and after sitting for extended periods of time (which kind of is a must with school). I have an hour before my next class. I should study, but I think I am going to go into the lab and stretch my lower extremities really well (emphasis on iliacus, psoas, and quads) and then do some e-stim instead. I think what I need most of all, nonetheless, is a chill pill. Anyone know where I can by a few dozen of those? :) :) :)

I wasn't planning on running tonight but when Ry got home from work he said, "Want to join me on a run?" No way I could refuse that offer! :)

Welcome to taper week. Everything hurts worse, your training feels insufficient and you start second guessing yourself.

Relax, you will do fine! If you find a chill pill...let me know too!

This is totally normal Teena. I am going through all of the same sort of emotions. Be confident in your training and eat some easter candy to calm the nerves. :)

Same here - I even had a mini-mental breakdown on Saturday morning... just started thinking about it too much... and for me, nothing good comes out of that. Then I went out, ran my workout, and that completely reset my barometer.

Its totally normal to still feel a bit "off". We still have a week. As long as you have some major bounce in your step NEXT Monday, you'll be good to go!

Lots of stretching and iceing and stay loose this week! Stay loose mentally too - its gonna be fun!!!

Is you find that chill pill let me know! Have a great time not worrying about getting those workouts in this week with school. YOU CAN DO THIS! Your training and prep doesn't lie! How does it feel to be headed to Boston with no major breakdown?!? :)

I have access to some, but I would probably get fired....:-) I hate tapering, too. You will do SO great. I agree with Rachel... how cool is it that you are heading to Boston healthy! You go girl!

Thanks for the words of encouragement everybody. I just think it is absolutely nuts that I feel worse these last couple of weeks than I did during the high mileage weeks. I have presently told my body that it can complain for two more days ... THEN THAT IS IT!!!! :)
