From RAD on Sun, May 09, 2010 at 01:24:37 from 67.172.229.125

Nice work lady!! Sounds like a fun amazing morning with some of my favorite people too :) Lowell always keeps me in stitches when I run with him!!

How did finals and crazy life go? I hope you are feeling well and that you are recovering well from Boston and all the craziness your body is throwing at you.

From KP on Sun, May 09, 2010 at 10:52:15 from 98.81.7.93

YAY! So glad you are back!! How much of a break do you have before next semester starts? I have 20 glorious days!!!

From Teena Marie on Sun, May 09, 2010 at 10:55:52 from 174.52.45.85

KP --

OUCH, only 20 days???? That stinks. I have decided not to register for any classes in the summer since I will be taking the GRE, shadowing a couple different PTs in addition to my working (although I cut my work schedule down to one day for the summer so I can party with my cute kids), and getting my application ready and submitted. :)

What are you studying?

From KP on Sun, May 09, 2010 at 11:04:31 from 98.81.7.93

I'm just doing a boring business degree. What are you studying?? PT?? How much do you lack? I've got about 2 LONG years.

From Teena Marie on Sun, May 09, 2010 at 11:08:31 from 174.52.45.85

KP --

My undergrad is actually history, which I love, but don't want to make a career out of. SO ... I went back to school to take all the pre-reqs to try and get into the PT program. The only program they have in Utah is at the University of Utah and is a doctorate program (so another 3 years in addition to the year of physics and my senior seminar). It sounds so so so long. BUT ... the years will come and go whether I do the schooling or not. Might as well do it, right? I am applying to a couple of schools out of state as well, just in case. My supportive hubby said he will somehow make it work! :)

From Teena Marie on Sun, May 09, 2010 at 11:08:54 from 174.52.45.85

And btw, business is NOT boring!!! :)

From DonGardinero on Sun, May 09, 2010 at 15:17:47 from 75.162.99.15

Teena, I hope you don't go out of state!!! Too many people would miss you.

Glad to see you are running again.

Nice to see you back! How are you feeling? I wish I could have run with you on Saturday but I would rather be with my honey sorry.

From Rhett on Mon, May 10, 2010 at 13:22:53 from 74.41.249.102

Good to hear from you again lady!!!!!

From Tom Slick on Tue, May 11, 2010 at 09:23:38 from 168.179.157.104

I see your back out there hitting the road again, but how is the leg? Give it to us straight!

From MrsFIT on Tue, May 11, 2010 at 10:18:10 from 205.127.241.18

Yay, what Slick said...."give it to us straight!"

From Teena Marie on Tue, May 11, 2010 at 11:49:57 from 174.52.45.85

Thanks everyone.

Okay ... here is the deal: Yes, I am running some, not nearly as much as I would like, however, and not pain free.

If I can get into a few miles w/o too much pain I seem to do fine until the run is over. Then I hurt for a couple days, then it settles down, and then I run again.

I realize that this is not the right or the smart way to do this, but I really want to run Ogden, UVM, PC, and SG. Granted, my times will not be what I had anticipated or hoped ... but I am dealing with that.

From the outside I know it is easy for to see what I am doing wrong. I have told numerous runners to give their bodies the chance to really heal ... I know the drill ... it is just extremely difficult for me to do. Running provides something in my life that I struggle being without. I just don't feel as good without it. Sigh.

Anyway ... go ahead ... lecture me, let me have it ... I know that I am in the wrong ... but please be merciful as well. :)

Love you all.

Injuries are a tough call - is it at least getting better?

From Smooth on Tue, May 11, 2010 at 13:03:42 from 174.23.172.155

SSF ~ I am giving it to you straight. Eliminate the stressors in your life. We are humans and can't do EVERYTHING! It's okay to say NO to the things that don't matter. It's OK to not give 100% to everything and be everything to everyone!

Please please please take care of yourself first. Follow your blog title, find balance for your mind, body and spirit...then everything will take care of itself...things that don't matter will fall to the wayside...things that do matter will fall into place.

You are smarter than most people, me especially. You know your body best. You know what to do. If you want to run the Slam marathons; then do it...no regrets...no second-guessing yourself. The important thing is to know your limit, learn and grow from the experience. What is the title of the book you're gonna write? Teena's Physiology and Everyone Else's? :)

You know that I LOVE YOU no matter what!

From Teena Marie on Tue, May 11, 2010 at 13:16:09 from 174.52.45.85

Tim -

I can say this, it is not getting any worst. :) I got the stupid shingles right before getting injured on my 22 miler before Boston. The lingering nerve problems are still driving me crazy. I can't help but wonder if it all stems from that. I know that might sound crazy, but I do wonder.

SSF -

I don't know what I would do with out you. I am definitely NOT going to do another 4 months like these past 4 months again. I learned my lesson. One of the greatest blessings in my life is having so many opportunities to do so many of the things that I love: Family, school, running, work, etc. -- I just still need to find that right balance. :) I love you so much and am extremely grateful that you love me back regardless of my stupidities! :)
