Good job sticking to the plan! Have a fun 2nd day of school!

I hope you're enjoying the taper. I'm excited to read all about your best marathon ever on Sat.

From Teena Marie on Tue, May 17, 2011 at 19:50:56 from 67.2.88.232

Thanks SSF and Rhett!!!

I am very fortunate that I am in taper right now as school is already extremely time consuming (awesome -- but LOTS to do and study).

I am very nervous about Saturday and how my body will respond due to the stresses of this week. I am trying to get a minimum of 6.5 hours of sleep at night and eat throughout the day (we are only given 15 minutes for lunch but also have a couple of 10 minute breaks). I'm hoping that it will be enough.

Also, I imagine that I will have to substitute a good amount of running miles for elliptical miles (because I can study on the elliptical). I'll just have to make it work the best I can. (Which sadly includes a great reduction in blog time.)

I feel so lucky and happy to have this opportunity though!! All is good. :)

You are going to be amazing in graduate school! Just keep working and moving forward every day. I'm sure you will be at the top of your class.

Keep up that taper!

Good luck Saturday. I still think it's the best marathon out there! You'll do great, the elliptical does a pretty good job of maintaining fitness.

Matt~

THANKS!!!! :) :) :) Honestly, that means a lot coming from you. PT school is AWESOME!!! LOTS to learn ... but AWESOME!!!! :) :) :)

Steve~

I really hope it goes well!!! Any last minute advice? (Btw, I am so jealous of the destinations of all your runs ... DANG ... so incredibly cool!)

From Steve on Wed, May 18, 2011 at 20:53:59 from 12.198.166.131

With the race times you have I doubt that you need any advice!

How about the advice I never follow well:

Don't start out too fast on this course. The miles around the lake will leave a mark!

Steve~

I am horrible with that!! Okay ... this is the race where I will not get caught up in the moment but run those first handful of miles as planned! :)

(No Peeps at the stores ... I checked.)

Maybe not, but there are always moon pies. :)

What Steve said is so true. This is not a gimme marathon. You start with 6-7 pretty nice downhill miles, but followed by 11 flat/rollers. You've got to have something left at the top of the dam to be able to take advantage of the canyon. Try to take it easy early in the race.

Steve~

MOONPIES???? Ummmm ... I need to think about that one! :)

Slick~

I have a couple of plans ... nothing wrong with being able to adapt if needed! :)

Kam~

Amen, brother. :)
