Had to start my run this morning super early since I need to be at Wasatch Running to tape people as part of a KT tape promotion. In other words, if anyone needs and/or wants a free taping job this morning stop by Wasatch Running between 8-11:00 or so. :) :) :)

6 miles on the TM (too scary outside by myself so early), AP 8:20

then directly following

11 miles on the JRP with JohnnyV (leaving my house at 5:20), AP 8:06

Great run. Feeling good. :)

Hope the people received you as the KT tape expert well. :)

Paul~

This morning at Wasatch Running was AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!! I loved every minute of it. I taped up people and talked running from 7:45 to 12:45. SO SO SO incredibly awesome!!! The KT tape representative there was FANTASTIC!!! He sent me home with SO much stuff and asked me if I would be interested in helping them at the expos at the big races (both in state and out of state). Of course I said "ABSOLUTELY"!!!! Hopefully I can work it out with my school schedule!!! Plus, they ordered me a pair of running shoes of my choice. WOOT WOOT!!!! Then ... to top it all off, Smooth came by and took me to a late lunch (I was starving, hadn't eaten since my run) before working on her ailments. GREAT DAY!!!!

(Wow ... that was a super long response! Sorry. Just still completely excited!!! :))

T NA NA, KT tape expert, does it really help? Sweet total miles for day. The time is coming quick, are you ready?

Brent~

ABSOLUTELY! That is, when it is used and applied correctly. That is the trick! There are various application techniques depending on the tissue, the injury, the purpose, etc. How much tension to put on the tape (once again, dependent on the injury/purpose) and which direction to lay the tape down is really important. A lot of people make the mistake of putting too much tension on the tape. One of the things I love about KT tape is that unlike the athletic taping and the McConnell taping techniques (the two other most common taping methods) KT tape can be worn for days at a time (even weeks at a time) without compromising circulation, biomechanics, ROM, skin, etc.

I really do think KT tape is great when used and applied the right way. And ... most applications are easy enough that anyone could learn to do it themselves. That is the goal! :)

The research that has come out the last few years has been incredibly positive.

By any chance did you see the number of Olympians wearing it this year? I would drive my hubby crazy analyzing what each taping job was for. :) :) :)

Headed to your blog right now ... hoping you did the Half IM. :) :) :)

It was so so so so great to watch you in action! Seriously you are awesome at assessing, taping and teaching those people there! The KT tape people were very lucky to have you there doing their promo and demo as well as the "patients", me included! :) :) :) :) You are going to be a GREAT DPT!!!

I hope you got a little nap because seriously I don't know how in the world you did that getting up in the crack of dawn to run 17 miles before heading over to work 5 hours non-stop on people and then working on me in the afternoon! You are amazing! :) :) :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for taking care of all my ailments! YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Luvs and lugs! :)

Having been taped personally by Teena, I can testify to her taping prowess!

Teena-are you doing the full distance for the XTerra or the half distance? Either way, that looks like an awesomely challenging course!

From Teena Marie on Mon, Aug 27, 2012 at 09:34:51 from 208.54.4.192

Matt-

I am doing the full distance and I am scared silly. It is the same course that the USA championship is on (the course that Lance Armstrong took 3rd on last year). If I can come in under double his time I will be ecstatic! That means I am gunning for a 4:46:00. :)

How is your recovery?

From watchmerun on Mon, Aug 27, 2012 at 09:49:25 from 155.101.104.136

I feel surprisingly good today. But, I think I'll take a couple days off before I run again. My worst injury is an abrasion from where the zipper on my top scraped against my manubrium and right clavicle for 70 miles. Ouch! I'm not so sure how that happened.

You are going to do great! I'm sure of that. It couldn't be that hard to haul your 100 lb frame up over 20% grades through bear infested forests and poison-ivy covered glades. And, won't it be hunting season at about that time? Better wear fluorescent orange! Hahaha!

Smooth :)

No nap, but it was fine. I LOVED being at Wasatch Running and with you. The time went by far too quickly!!! I received an email from KT tape's national sales manager today and Wasatch Running today. It was an AWESOME experience and one I hope to repeat many times. Luvs and lugs! :) :) :)
