Hallelujah, it's over!!! :) :) :)

This week has been crazy and this race was not on my priority list until Friday. Sadly, I forgot a bunch of my stuff at home including my sunglasses and visor. Not surprising seeing that I took an ambien at 11:00 last night and was still pretty drugged up when I got up at 2:30 this morning. Matt and JohnnyV were hoping that I was drugged up enough that I wouldn't remember them calling me Big-Headed Princess. But I remember and they are in so much trouble!!! ;)

Same gig, different name: Ahead of schedule through mile 22ish and then crashed and burned! :) So, my new reason to why I keep falling a few minutes short of my goal is simple: I think I can run faster than I actually can!! Good to know!!! :) :) :) Very cool to have a running partner the whole way! JohnnyV and I ran the first 20 together and then Fonz came to pace me the last 6.2. LOVED having them to run with. I was a pretty pathetic runner towards the end and appreciated Fonz's help. It was also nice to have Rhett at the finish line to keep me steady. I felt pretty icky. Thanks Rhett!!

Still not quite sure what type of running goals I should have while in school. It has been more intense than I thought. BUT I LOVE IT!!!

(My watch was totally messed up. Shows a 5:23 for my 15th mile and that I ran 26.56 miles -- which by the way totally stinks when you are thinking you are going to quit at 26.2.)

BEST PART: Ry and the kids surprised me and came!!!! :) :) :) I was so happy to see them!!!! Watched my SSF run in and then headed home.

Congrats to so many of the FRBers that had stellar races!!! WAHOO!!!! :)

* Eating and sleeping this week was pathetic. Not good ... but what do you do?

Nice job Teena!! I am a little sad that I never registered and ran this race.

From Steam8 on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 19:48:46 from 166.70.55.77

Congrats on your race! Loved reading your post!

From RAD on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 20:07:49 from 98.202.17.113

Maybe the 10K :) You're amazing Teena! I'd love to crash and burn and still hit a 3:30! Glad there were lots of people to help you along the way. That last mile+ seeing the finish and not being able to get to it fast enough was a tad torturous! It truly was the bitter end for me.

Oh, and I can't remember why, but the last 10Kish of the race I thought "I know Teena has a right to that 'big headed princess' name, but I think I just earned it!" I can't remember why, but I thought it :)

Awesome work Teena, you are amazing!

From JulieC on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 21:19:25 from 70.56.111.21

I think you ran well, and consistent paces. Good job! btw I looked at your garmin connect report and there lies your mile 15 with a HUGE VERTICAL gain. The course really only drops 2320 feet and gains 1041 ft-- your garmin read some funky VERT gain/loss due to mile 15. Totally interesting. Something "bermuda triangle-like" happened near Sundance road. I haven't been able to unload mine yet....should be interesting.

From Kelli on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 21:42:08 from 71.219.92.225

You are faster than you give yourself credit for! An Ambien at 11??? I will still be asleep now!!!

Great to see you today, it has been a while!! I miss you, but know you are SO busy.

My thoughts? Family and school priority number 1 and 2. Run for health and fun! Do some short races cause you love to race, but RELAX a little!!! Running will still be there when you finish school. You will be older, wiser, and probably faster cause you will have so much FREE time!

From Carina on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 21:42:59 from 204.15.86.83

It was so fun to meet you this morning! Great time. It's so hard to prioritize with so much going on, but I think you did so well!!

From allie on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 21:44:03 from 24.10.191.18

teena -- you ran a great race. i know you have a very tight schedule and you manage everything so well. a 3:30 marathon is awesome. you are always very consistent and you find a way to perform even when the circumstances may not be ideal (i.e. no sunglasses and visor, etc). i admire your work ethic and your dedication to your family, to school and to running. that's a lot for one person to do but you do it all so well.

also, a give a giant YES vote for d-news. it's the best race in the state :)

From Kim on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 22:47:13 from 67.199.180.90

There you go again girl! Great job as usual! Tom and I thought we saw you once but wasn't sure it was you. Now we understand why...you weren't wearing your visor and sunglasses! I wish we would have ran over to say hi!

From Fritz on Sat, Jun 11, 2011 at 23:50:39 from 67.182.226.25

Great job Teena! I can't even take care of myself let alone a spouse, 5 kids, and going to school. I don't know how you find time to do it all and do it well. Keep it up, and get some sleep. :)

From AmberG on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 00:35:01 from 67.2.220.83

Nice Job Teena!!!! Seriously you are quite super-human my dear! I hope you get some good rest this weekend and congrats on finishing through those last tough miles!

Carina~

It was great to meet you! I am in awe of your giant negative split and super fast race! :)

Allie~

Thank you so much for the kind words. You have always been so wonderful!! I love my life!!! :) I do wish that I could run faster, but nonetheless, life is very sweet! :) How are you hanging in there? I feel as if I have gotten so far behind on everyone's blogs. How is your bike treating you?

Kim~

OH!!!! I would have LOVED seeing you and Tom!!! Next time I will make sure to have at least my sunglasses!!! :) :) :)

Fritz~

Going to bed now!! I am lucky, my hubby and kids are awesome and probably take care of me more than I take care of them. :)

Yo, you "Big Headed Princess". What a great race for you!!!!! Hey take some time to smell the roses and get off the hard drugs!

From Bonnie on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 11:24:46 from 184.96.165.178

Wow, what a great race and race report! You are one strong person Teena. That Kelli has some great advice, you deserve to take a break from goals (not running, just goals). Not to mention you seem to have your hands full right now ;-). you are an inspiration!

From artichoke on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 13:43:05 from 24.2.95.164

Fantastic job! Congratulations on another great marathon.

From Maynard on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 13:50:29 from 71.213.7.221

You're an AWESOME Big-Headed Princess!

Nice job, Teena!

Running the half with my girls was great, but I missed seeing all my running buddies who were all running the full.

From Kelli on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 17:11:13 from 71.219.92.225

Well, then, I love ya, too! And tell Ryan thanks for the hug and it was about time.

From Andy on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 21:37:55 from 199.190.170.24

Well done. Looks like a bit of a Garmin glitch during mile 15 unless you really did do up and down a 1,000 foot hill.

It is amazing how well you are able to excel with everything that you take on. I agree with Kelli, #1 family, #2 school. Let running be a good distraction and stress reliever.

From Toby on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 22:00:26 from 216.194.124.36

WOWZER..a 3:30! I don't think I will EVER be able to run that fast! Way to overcome all your obstacles (no visor, sunglasses, crummy eating/sleep AND being in school). Just shows what kind of athlete you are! Good job!

From watchmerun on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 23:18:13 from 166.70.220.66

Congratulations on another great race! I know it wasn't quite what you wanted, but a 3:30 is a 3:30! Way to make it happen! All while you are full time student! Make sure you schedule in some downhill training runs; I'm sure you will tear up D News.

From Kelli on Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 23:52:41 from 71.219.92.225

I am SO SMART!!!

Hey, I will join you and run for fun and then we will take the races by storm in the Masters category when you are out of school (and can fix the damage I do by trying to be fast!)

From jtshad on Mon, Jun 13, 2011 at 08:47:53 from 69.20.183.178

Good race, Teena! Keep running strong. Sorry I missed you at the race, would have loved to chat with you again.

From JohnnyV on Mon, Jun 13, 2011 at 11:43:23 from 204.124.13.151

Great run. Thanks for towing me along. You did awesome. I am sorry we didn't quite hit 3:27, we will get there some time. Thanks again for letting me run with you. It is nice to be in the presence of royalty.

From Rhett on Mon, Jun 13, 2011 at 13:17:43 from 74.41.249.102

Teena, it was great seeing you and Ryan. Doone loved meeting all your kids at the race. You are an amazing runner and an even better person. Keep up the goood work with all you do in your life.

From Scott Wesemann on Mon, Jun 13, 2011 at 19:12:29 from 66.239.250.209

Ambien the night before? Wow! I wouldn't have been able to move. Congrats on another fast marathon. :)

From Kathie on Tue, Jun 14, 2011 at 11:38:38 from 97.117.84.18

Really Teena you had a great race, you took what the day gave you and made the best of it!!!!

From Teena Marie on Wed, Jun 15, 2011 at 01:02:43 from 67.2.101.26

Slick~

Thanks!!! I only took one half of an ambien ... who knew!!! :)

Bonnie~

You always say the nicest things. I am pretty convinced that you must certainly be one of the nicest people ever! :) :) :)

Artichoke~

Thanks!!! It was fun (for the most part). :)

Bradley~

I definitely missed seeing you. D-News and PC are still up in the air for me as well. :)

Kel~

Ry had been dreaming about that hug for 18 years now!!! :)

Andy~

So you are saying that I didn't go up and down a 1000 foot hill? DANG!!! Thanks for all of your encouragement always!! :)

Toby~

Running seems to be the glue that helps me keep everything together. Know what I mean? :)

Matt~

Any chance you will run D-news? Group run on Saturday? Thanks for always bringing a little more fun to the table! :)

Jeff~

Thanks!! Hopefully there will be many more races where I will hopefully run into you! (Figuratively speaking.) :)

John~

I have had SO much fun running the last couple of marathons with you. 3:27 ... we gotta make it happen! :)

Rhett~

It was SO good spending some time with you and Doone. I wish so badly that you two lived closer. Ry and I were talking about how you look like Adam Levine!!!! (That's a HUGE compliment!!!)

Scott~

It was only half of a pill!!! :) Thanks! :)

Kathie~

I really wanted a sub 3:27 ... so I went for it. Fell a little short ... but that keeps me aching to try again! :) :) :)

From fly on the Wall on Wed, Jun 15, 2011 at 11:06:59 from 204.113.19.47

I think you did great considering Ogden was just 3 busy weeks before. "why I keep falling a few minutes short of my goal is simple: I think I can run faster than I actually can!!" Maybe you can run faster than you think you can but your body has failed to inform your brain that your are running multiple marathons. The SLAM is not good for PRs.

From Smooth on Thu, Jun 16, 2011 at 00:56:53 from 67.2.124.123

You did the best you could! I agree with Fly!

I don't know of anyone who can pull off what you accomplished while getting a doctorate degree with a busy family and young children! A+++ in my book! LLL LLL LLL LLL :) :) :) Glad you had all these awesome princes and knights to run with you!!! :)

From Teena Marie on Fri, Jun 17, 2011 at 13:33:05 from 67.2.101.26

Fly~

Thanks!!! (But maybe I am just getting old and fizzle out more easily!!!) :)

SSF~

Thank you. You always make me feel like a million bucks. Really, thank you. I love you. :)
