I am so happy about this race. Although it is not a PR for me, it is a course PR by 5 minutes, and I feel like it was the strongest that I have ever run in a half marathon. (Additionally, it is the first race in years that I haven't used any NSAIDS.)

This morning before getting ready I asked Kelli for some racing advice. She told me this: "Stop over thinking it and just run hard -- if it gets too hard just slow down until you can run hard again." Funny how the most simple advice often is the best.

One of the GREAT things about this race is that I got to run about 9 miles of it with Mark (huans32). He definitely was a great help. His words of encouragement were so appreciated and he kept me honest in my effort.

I had so much fun!!! I am LOVING spending the weekend with my SSF (Smooth), Kelli, and Emily! Also being able to have lunch with Maynard (Brad), Rhett and his beautiful wife, Doone, and many others was a huge highlight! Last night's dinner and frozen custard today with Lowell was FANTASTIC, and, of course, seeing all my FRB friends -- love it, love it, love it!!! I feel so so so lucky!!!

Okay -- off to dinner with the girls!!! YAHOO!!!! :)

Awesome job Teena. Looks like in the end you actually did beat me.:( It was great to have you there to push me too. I would of just taken it easy with Jeff other wise. Thanks for pushing me right up to the finish line.

T Na na - hey, way to keep your eyes open, very nice race, mental toughness, good times ahead. By the way, great advice, just run Forest. 100 commando points for the good race early in the season coming back from nagging issues.

Nice work Teena!! Sounds like an amazing race and a great time with friends as well. Glad everything is feeling well and responding well to all of your TLC for it!!

From Walter on Sat, Jan 23, 2010 at 23:28:25 from 24.10.169.110

Teena Marie, that was some sound advice to you from Kelli! I wished she wouldve told me some at the start. She told me when I was at mile 12 and my mind was to hazy then to get it in. lol Great to see you down there fellow Husky! Did you see Steve Sumsion down there? He beat me barely! Im mad! I have wanted to beat him since High School. He just started running since he ran for UofU. hes a farmer now and I think I talked him into getting back into it.

From Burt on Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 00:22:36 from 98.177.216.165

Great job Teena. So, I met Doone before you? I guess that means I'm cooler than you. No wait, you're faster and therefore the coolest. Now let's get you on the Hot Discussion Board. I think Walter would like nothing more than to see me off of it.

From Scott Wesemann on Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 03:30:57 from 75.162.72.176

Congrats on your race Teena. That is great that you ran strong and felt like you had a good race.

Walter- I grew up in the same neighborhood with Steve Sumsion. He is a great guy, and used to run everywhere when we were kids.

From Walter on Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 03:56:28 from 24.10.169.110

Hey Scott, then you know Clark and Dolonna Jensen? When did you graduate? Thats my subtle way of asking how old you are. I ran with Steve at Hillcrest and he broke the school record for cross country.

From Walter on Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 04:15:40 from 24.10.169.110

Boy that Kelli girl sure is SMART!!!!

Thanks for the great weekend! I had a great time chatting and reminiscing and teasing and eating (thanks for indulging me so I would not lose weight, I was getting nervous!)

I talked to Scott when I got home and asked him, "Is Teena as fast as me, be honest?" And guess what he said???? Absolutely and unequivocally YES!!! He said exactly what I said, "She just had a bad year." So, you can not argue with that, he is a cop. HE KNOWS things.

Now, stop reading this and get doing your homework young lady!

From Bec on Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 22:02:13 from 76.23.55.210

Dearest Awesomest Funniest SSF!!! I cannot begin to tell you HOW MUCH fun I had this weekend. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for the wonderful road trip, the condo stay, the goodies, the meals and movies, the laughs, the sharing of precious precious thoughts. I love listening to you and Kelli reminiscing of your high school days. I even love your craziness!!! Thank you for being who you are and for letting me be part of your life.

Lastly, I want to tell you that I am SO PROUD of your AWESOME performance. It is SO WONDERFUL to see you triumph over last year's injuries. You have discovered for yourself your strength and weakness soooo much from your experiences and how/why the injuries occured and know what to do to continue to improve. Please know that you have every ability and talent to be the best you can be.

I marvel at all the things you do with family, school and church. Please know that you will be blessed with success for your righteous desires. The BEST is yet to come. I LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!! Have a GREAT week! Wish I could do your homework for you! :)

Teena...Amy's 5k was ok. She walked most of it because she's still not allowed to run. But she had fun.

I looked for you, too, but you were probably up in the front. I was way in the back hanging with my sister.

From Teena Marie on Tue, Jan 26, 2010 at 00:51:40 from 174.52.45.85
