Today was bitter sweet. Spend most of the day in Cedar City at SUU watching the state championship games. Rylee's team did not make it to the finals so that was sad, but we wanted to watch the game and Rylee had to be there to accept her All State Academic Award at half time. I could not be more proud of my girl. I tried so hard not to cry and mostly succeeded but I had to fight the tears big time. I felt my throat closing off on me as I tried to hold back my emotions. Basketball has been such a huge part of her life, and now that chapter is coming to end. She is more than prepared to move on to all the good things the world has to offer her, I'm just not prepared. Ugh ... I love that girl!!!

Got home and ran 4.5 miles with Ry up towards Rock City and then another 1.5 with Iggy. Iggy is becoming quite the runner! Today she ran her 1.5 at a 7:43 pace. Who knew I could love a dog so much! The second she sees me in my running clothes she heads straight to the front door and lays on her back waiting for me to put on the leash. She is SO CUTE!!!! :-)

Goal this week was 50 miles! I did it! :-)

So so so proud of Rylee! Has she decided where to go for college?

Very cool. And way to go getting 50 for the week

Not yet!!! It's killing me!! Some of the universities don't let you know until May. For example, Berkeley and Irvine. My guess is that she will go to UNofR because that is where Gabe is playing football. But she hasn't told us yet for sure. The academic scholarship offers keep coming in. It is super nice that she has options. I just don't want her to leave me. I'm not ready.

And thank you, Smooth and Dale. :-)

Rylee sounds like a smart girl that can do what ever she sets her mind to. I'm sure you will make the best decision for her life.

Sure love that Rylee girl! Can hardly believe she's leaving for college this Fall. She's one amazing, talented, intelligent, kind, compassionate, hard working young lady just like her mama! :)I'm with Rhett, she'll reach her goals and make great things happen! :)

I'm sure she will. I'm just not quite ready to not have her here. You know? But I guess this is how it works. Dang that circle of life! ;-)

I get sad thinking about our kids growing up and moving out. Cody just turned 15 a couple of weeks ago and Donna turned 12 at the end of January. I turned 46 on the 2nd and I can't believe I will be 50 in four years. Yikes

I know what you mean. But so it goes. We are definitely lucky to have them when we do! :-)

Good night all. That was the most fun I've had on the blog in years.

I've been there, six times! Then they get married and move away! Never gets easy! I still sometimes cry myself to sleep missing my children so bad! But oh so sweet when they come home! Sweeter still are the grandchildren when they come!

That WAS fun!!! It reminded me of the old days on the ForumFlyers site

Well find out if they have a marathon you can run in the area where Rylee finally decides to school.

Dale,

Yea, that was fun having so many of us on here.

Slick,

Great idea! Now if she could just make up her mind!!! She has presidential scholarship offers (or the equivalent) at 6 universities already. I really want her to go the the U but I'm guessing she is going to chose UNR (which means there should be some good races near Lake Tahoe, right?). She doesn't have to commit until May 1st to most of the offers so I still have several weeks of not knowing. Ugh! :-) :-) :-)
