What a morning!!! :)

I planned ahead so that I could skip classes and watch the Boston Marathon. I slept in with the plan of watching it on television as I ran on the treadmill. Showtime. I turn on the tv and NO BOSTON MARATHON!!!! I hate DIRECT TV!!!!! Never had that problem with Comcast. Anyway ... after spending way too much time on the phone with Direct TV (who informed me that I needed to upgrade my package if I wanted to watch the marathon) I found a site online that had live coverage for $4.99. Done deal. But then I couldn't get my order to process! I was getting upset. Finally the order went through. The women had just hit the halfway mark. I still wanted to run and so I frantically took apart my sectional couch and put the long piece on its side in front of my treadmill so that I could sit my laptop on top of it. I had two sets of earphones, one hooked to the laptop and one hooked to my ipod. It was SO SO SO fun listening to my music in one ear and the marathon in the other. The cowbells, cheers, etc. sent an excitement through my body. Also, I had my cell phone in the cup holder so that I could get the splits via texts of our friends running it! It was GREAT!!!! I am done with my run but am still enjoying tracking everyone's progress. Smooth sent me some pics from this morning. Everyone looked GREAT and ready to rock 'n roll!! GOOD DAY!!! :) :) :)

11 miles including 5 X 1200 meters at 5K pace w/ three and a half minutes jog between. Perhaps it was the excitement of Boston, but I feel good! :)

Sorry you weren't there in person, running in the lead (of your wave, of course). Next year!

How fun! Well, after getting through the discouraging/frustrating part. I thought for sure it would be on SC this morning at the gym, but I was denied too! :( So, now I'm here trying to look it all up.

Glad you had a great run "in Boston" :)

funny two years ago I didn't have to pay for live coverage. I decided to just use twitter and went on my run but I sure missed out. Should have paid the 4.99 but I was boycotting even though it was cheap. GREAT multitasking Teena!!! : D

that sounds fun for sure - nice workout

Teena, I remember doing that kind of stuff the last few years, trying to find a way to watch Boston. Now we have a tv with a digital antenna and I was able to watch it with no problem....for free, even.

That sure was an exciting race!!! Did you see Paul peterson cross the line? Did you see that poor woman that messed her pants?

Matt~

Hoping that I will be able to miss a couple of days of PT school next year to go. Not sure if that is doable yet or not, but I will likely register either way and hope for the best. :)

Rachel~

Sorry you missed it. That stinks! It was kinda cool to virtually run in Boston this morning. :)

Julie~

You are definitely a woman of principle!!! :) :) :)

Tim~

Thanks!!! Not as fun as being there, but a whole lot better than a normal TM run. :)

Dale~

Sadly, no, I did not see Paul. In fact, the $4.99 I paid was well worth the money, but cut off coverage about 5 minutes after Ryan Hall finished. :(

Nice workout Teena! :) Sorry it was such a pain to be able to watch only half of the marathon. For anyone that missed it (and has the right provider LOL), they're replaying it on NBC Universal tonight at midnight (ET) so 10pm our time.

SSF ~ You are so funny!!! I can just picture you with your ingenious idea to watch the race, run your workout, keep track of everyone's splits and progress, text, study, listen to your ipod....man alive...you are master of multi-tasker! I should have hired you to help me clean house and get thru the next few crazy busy days! I love you!!!

We sure miss you a ton! Lark and I were talking about you and him running a crazy fast start (his 5K PR in a Boston marathon!) last year. I missed you so much the whole weekend! You better run it next year!
